These Beyond composition pieces coalesce multiple visual languages into one piece using a graffiti like outline as a compositional carrier creating a window into the different subjects I create. The word Beyond is the name I chose opposed to a name given to me which best fits who I am as an artist. Working within the disciplines of classical realism, abstraction, and graffiti vernacular utilizing oil and spray paint, It’s important that my work merges these different worlds bringing the exterior world into the interior space and the interior space to the exterior playing off opposites. The Brick painted backgrounds referencing the exterior surfaces of walls with traditional graffiti letters within my pieces create windows or mirrors that peer into other bodies of work and visual experiments i create.
